Psychotherapy, combined with medication, can help people overcome social phobia. There are two types of social phobia, the first being agoraphobia, which mean “fear of being alone”, and the second is social anxiety disorder (SAD). In addition, there are other symptoms associated with social phobia, including extreme feelings of fear and concern, difficulty breathing, sweating, dizziness, heart palpitations, and nausea.

Many social phobias can be treated successfully with the right amount of treatment. This can include therapy and medication. However, for social phobias that are hard to treat, psychotherapy may be needed in combination with medicine.
